Many of our ancestors, grand parents, and forefathers turned back to nature during the "hard times of the Great Depression". They grew their own livestock with chickens for eggs and meat. They raised their own beef and pork products. They went back to the woods of the mountains to find herbal teas and medicinal roots. They practically invented the concept of home-based businesses, as virtually everything they needed, they made it! We see much of this same trend happening now during this current Economic Recession. People are turning back to nature and going green again. The modern trend now is to totally remake the internal combustion engine and get American drivers off of any need for oil and gasoline. So we may be going back to a 21st century version of the old "horse & buggy"? The need and demand for recycling reusable wastes is creating "cottage industries" for the common man who can do a useful community service of roadway, litter pick-up and still make extra money doing it. In fact, the old Ginseng Herb Diggers can also make extra money picking up and gathering discarded metals, plastics, etc, along the same deep backroads where he traditionally looks for wild herbs!! Even in these old fashion ways of making extra money, the potential of generating "multiple streams of income" is out there for the taking! So lets go green and make some extra green!..
